Our Philosophy

We believe design should honor nature, not dominate it.[web:114][web:127]

How we started

STEMS & CO was founded in 2020 by Maya Chen, a sustainability advocate and former landscape architect who saw an opportunity to reimagine floristry through a minimalist, eco-conscious lens.

Frustrated by the industry's reliance on imported flowers, floral foam, and excessive packaging, Maya created a studio committed to local sourcing, zero-waste practices, and designs that celebrate simplicity.

Today, we serve clients who value intention over excess—from intimate home deliveries to large-scale corporate installations, all rooted in sustainable practices.[web:127][web:209]

Our Commitments

Three non-negotiable principles that guide every decision

50-Mile Radius

Every flower travels less than 50 miles from farm to studio. We partner with Bay Area growers committed to organic, regenerative practices.[web:185]

Zero Waste

No floral foam. No plastic wrap. We use reusable mechanics, compostable materials, and return vessels for refills.[web:179][web:186]

Less is More

Minimalism isn't just aesthetic—it's ethical. Fewer stems, more intention. Quality over quantity. Always.
